This Privacy Policy outlines how Lilypad Insurance Holdings Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “Lilypad”) process the collecting, using, securing, and sharing customer information the first time we do business with you and every year you are a Lilypad customer.
1. Types of Information Collected and How We Collect Them
Personal Information You Provide:
As permitted by law, we may collect personal information about you to quote and service your insurance policy. This information may include your name, address, telephone number, social security number, information about your home, business, or vehicle, employment history, financial status, and consumer report and claims history. Depending on the products or services you request, we may collect personal information from some or all of the following sources, where permitted by law:
Information we receive from customers on applications and other forms. You provide this on your application, through your agent or broker, by phone, or online. We may also obtain it from directories or other outside sources. Such information may include your name, street and email addresses, phone number, driver’s license number, social security number, date of birth, gender, and marital status.
Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others. This information includes your insurance coverage, underwriting, limits and rates, and payment and claims history. It also includes information that we require for billing and payment.
Information we receive from third party companies, including consumer reporting agencies and other third-party reporting agencies. This information may include claims history, credit report information, and loss information reports.
If your relationship with us ends, your personal information will remain protected, as required by local, state, and federal laws and according to our practices, as described in this notice.
Personal Information Collected Automatically:
As is true of many digital platforms, we collect certain personal information automatically when you visit our online services, including:
Location Data. To help us protect against fraud, provide our services to you, and improve our services, we may collect location data, including current and historical information concerning a user’s geographic location, GPS location, transaction location, and IP addresses that they use in conjunction with our services.
Usage and Device Data Collected Automatically Through Tracking Technologies. To provide a personalized and enhanced user experience, we, and our third-party partners, automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit or use our services, read our emails, or otherwise engage with us. Some browsers have options that allow the user to control whether the browser will accept cookies, reject cookies, or notify the user each time a cookie is sent. You may elect to reject cookies by adjusting your settings but doing so will limit the range of features available to you on our services and other websites. Unlike browser cookies, “Flash cookies” are not stored in the browser.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to underwrite your policies, process your claims, ensure proper billing, and service the products and services we provide to you or that you request from us. This may include, but is not limited to, using it to: (a) evaluate your insurance requests; (b) process, service and maintain policies and transactions; (c) administer and investigate claims; (d) resolve disputes; (e) prevent fraud; (f) communicate with you and monitor and archive communications; (g) conduct research and analytics to understand our customers and tailor our product offerings; (h) perform audits, or (i) perform risk control such as obtaining reinsurance. Furthermore, we may use your personal information in accordance with applicable law to verify your identity when you inquire about a product furnished to you by us, or to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Disclosures of Personal Information
Lilypad is committed to maintaining your trust, and we want you to understand when and with whom we may share the personal information we collect. We may share your personal information in the instances below. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, aside from substantial corporate transactions (described below).
Authorized third parties and service providers. We share personal data with certain authorized and vetted contractors, subcontractors, third-party vendors, and service providers who help us run and protect our business and with agents, investigators, appraisers, attorneys and other persons who are or will be involved in processing your application and servicing your policy or any claims you may make. Certain third parties may utilize artificial intelligence to assist with the underwriting or claims handling process. We also share personal information with parties related to our transactions, including financial service providers, such as banks, mortgage companies, mortgage brokers, agencies that offer consumer information, insurance companies, investment consultants and similar companies, real estate agents, brokers and appraisers, third party actuaries, and reinsurers.
Lilypad affiliates. We share personal data with other companies owned, controlled by, or under common control with Lilypad. These companies will use your personal information in the same way that we do under this Privacy Policy. Certain Lilypad affiliates utilize artificial intelligence to assist in making underwriting decisions and handling claims.
Substantial corporate transactions. We may share personal data in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of a website, a merger, consolidation, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party, asset sale, initial public offering, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy or similar proceeding.
Legal or regulatory purposes. We disclose personal data to state insurance departments, governmental and law enforcement authorities when required by law or to protect our legal interests, and to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law-enforcement requests, and legal claims and to protect and defend the rights, interests, safety, and security of Lilypad, our affiliates, users or the public.
With your consent. We share personal data for any other purposes disclosed to you with your consent. We may also share information with others in an aggregated or otherwise anonymized form that does not reasonably identify you directly as an individual.
We will only share your personal information in the strictest confidence necessary to accomplish the purposes mentioned above. All of the affiliated and nonaffiliated third parties are obligated to keep such information that we provide to them confidential and to use the nonpublic personal information only for the purpose for which the information was provided.
4. Credit Information We May Share or Disclose
In connection with an application for insurance, we may review your credit report or obtain or use a credit-based insurance score based on the information contained in that credit report. We may use a third party in connection with the development of your insurance score. We may share the information with our affiliates or agents, as permitted by law, for the limited purpose of processing your application and servicing your policy.

Our website may contain links to content maintained that we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties or the content on the third-party services, and the information practices of these third parties are not covered by this Policy. Please note that these third-party services have their own privacy policies, and we strongly recommend that you read their privacy policies as terms and conditions of use to understand how they collect, use, and share your information.
6. Third-Party Tracking and Online Advertising
We use Google Analytics to recognize you and link your devices when you use our services on your browser or mobile device or otherwise engage with us. Google Analytics allows us to better understand how our users interact with our services and to tailor our advertisements and content to you.
